How to clean your room fast? We’ve all searched this question on Google and we’ve all been there. I know life can get pretty hectic, and sometimes, keeping your house spick and span feels like a never-ending battle.
Cleaning a house or room is always considered a tough task and sometimes it is. But most of the time it’s our mind playing tricks with us.
But fear not! We’ve got your back with some practical tips to help you conquer the chaos and transform your home into a haven of cleanliness and calm.
How do I motivate myself to clean?
Motivating yourself to clean can sometimes feel like a battle, especially when faced with a mountain of chores and deadlines.
But with a few strategies and a mindset shift you can get into your cleaning mode to get things done once and for all. Here are some steps for you to get into cleaning mode.
1 Reason
Finding the motivation to clean a room can be daunting. But at the same time, you cannot stay in the same messy room for long. So, you need to find your motivation factor.
For me, it’s my family or friends visiting. So whenever I have friends over I like to have my house clean so they can feel comfortable and relaxed. So that drives me into cleaning mode.
You can create a cleaning playlist. Create a cleaning playlist filled with upbeat songs that energize and inspire you. Add songs that you don’t prefer to listen to regularly and get into cleaning mode. You can also do the same with Podcasts.
2 Dress Up
This may sound a little weird but sometimes this trick works!
In the same way, you cannot wear your PJs in the Gym. For the gym, if you wear traditional gym wear you get into the mindset of working out.
You can dress up to clean your house. You can wear something like overalls or your old clothes that you are about to throw out this will help you get into cleaning mode.
3 Phone Free
We all know 2 Minutes of scrolling can easily turn into 20 minutes and at the end leaving us wondering where two hours vanished in the blink of an eye.
So try to keep your mobile as far as you can and that’s why having a cleaning playlist is important. Cleaning Playlist is best for this so you don’t have to take your phone into your hands to skip songs or to play.
If you are planning to listen to a Podcast choose something with a long duration like 45 minutes or 30. Then decide to yourself that I’ll clean my house till the podcast is going on.
This trick of the podcast can help you clean your house for a longer duration while your mind is engaged.
These are some factors which will help you to get motivated to clean.
4 Have Vision
Take a moment to visualize how you’ll feel once your space is clean and organized. Imagine the sense of satisfaction and peace that comes with having a tidy home.
Keeping this vision in mind can help you stay motivated, even when the cleaning process feels challenging.
How to clean your room fast?
Once you are motivated to clean your room let’s start with practical tips to help you get the result you’ve always wanted.
1 Problematic Area
First, you need to identify which area in your house desperately needs to be cleaned. Not all rooms in your house require the same level of attention when cleaning.
Because that area is always going to be daunting to look at and also does not make you feel motivated to clean.
So, no matter how tedious it is find out the problematic area. Once you realize all the problematic areas in your area like under your bed or your living room situation.
Mark this area as most important and then determine to yourself that this area no matter what will be cleaned.
2 Start with a Plan
Before diving into cleaning mode, take a moment to create a cleaning plan. As I mentioned before after finding out all the problematic areas.
Start with the most important and go to the least important. For example, if your living room is messy and so is your bedroom.
Then start with the living room if you have guests to visit. But if you are cleaning your room for yourself to get out of the rut then start with the bedroom.
Now according to that create a checklist of what needs to be done on priority. If you are not in a rush then you can create a weekly plan too.
3 Check on Supplies
Often, just when you’re ready and feel motivated to clean, you realize you’re missing the supplies you need to clean your house effectively. So it’s important to check if you are stocked with cleaning supplies or not.
Here are some basic cleaning supplies checklists everyone needs.
There’s nothing worse than getting halfway through a cleaning task and realizing you’re missing crucial cleaning supplies. Avoid this frustration by gathering all your cleaning supplies before you begin.
4 Trash
Once you get that burst of motivation to clean, the first big step is clearing out the Trash. Clear off countertops, put away toys, and tidy up any loose items that may be lying around.
Decluttering not only makes cleaning easier but also creates a sense of calm and order in your home. But while decluttering having a dedicated spot for trash is important.
If you clean one room but leave all the extra stuff lying around in another room, you’ll just end up with more clutter to deal with later.
You can either create a Trash spot where you keep all the things you want to throw away or carry a Trash Bag. Don’t want anything just put it in a Trash Bag while you go. This way you are one step ahead of your cleaning journey.
5 Top to Bottom
Whenever you are about to clean your room remember this rule always go from Top to Bottom.
Because if you clean your floor and have all the trash, and clutter on your table it will eventually come down to your floor.
For example, when cleaning a room, start by dusting ceiling fans, light fixtures, and shelves before moving on to furniture and floors. This prevents dust and trash from falling onto freshly cleaned floors.
6 Little Details
While we practically focus on problematic areas. It’s often the little details that make the biggest difference in the overall cleanliness of your home.
So here is another checklist for you so that your house is clean as a neat freak!
7 Routine
Create a routine for yourself so you don’t get drawn into a messy house. A simple routine as per your time the way you wanted and is easy for you.
You can also create a simple morning routine where you can add house cleaning. Cleaning your room is not that hard if you can incorporate a routine into it.
And if you are not sure that you can maintain a routine then follow the method “do as you go”.
For example – if you are binge-watching any show then while you are watching the show you can clean your nearby area. Or you can fold your laundry or you can your cupboard and cabinets while sitting in one place.
Create your micro habit of cleaning your room. You can dedicate 10 minutes of your day to putting everything in its place and throwing what you don’t need will help you keep your room clean for a longer span.
By implementing these strategies and adopting a positive mindset, you can find the motivation you need to tackle your cleaning tasks and create a space that you love to live in. So take a deep breath, put on some music, and get ready to conquer your cleaning goals!
